Box profile roofing sheets are fixed in the valleys, straight through the sheets. The seal is provided by a long life neoprene washer which will last up to 30 years.

The calculation for the number of fixings you will need is this:-

Number of fixing points x 4 (fixings per fixing point) x number of sheets

Fixings are supplied in bags of 100. Caps are available to suit the colour of the sheets you’ve chosen.

Fixings are available for fixing into 3 different types of material:-

Roof Sheet Fixings - More Info

What are Roof Sheet Fixings?

The first thing to know is that there are many different types of roof fixings. However, they all essentially perform the same job, holding on the steel roof sheets on the bars and trusses. When first installed, the head of each fixing is separated from the roof sheet by a rubber washer. At Rollaclad, we can supply a wide range of high-quality self-drilling tek screws which make easy work of fitting sheets to timber, heavy or light metal and concrete. The Roof Sheet Fixings are fixed in the valley of the sheets where the water runs on box profile and tile effect sheets, and in the top
corrugation on corrugated sheets. This allows them to become water-tight with the rubber washer at the back of the fixing.

What Roof Sheet Fixings do we offer?

Timber Fixings

Timber fixings have a needle point which will drill straight through the sheet without the need to pre-drill.

For single skin sheets, fixing lengths of 25mm, 32mm and 45mm are the norm. The length you select is dependent on how far you want the fixings to penetrate.

Lengths up to 150mm are available should your application need it.

Light Section Steel

Light section steel is classed as being up to 3.2mm thick.

These fixings will cut a hole through the top sheet and metal purlin without pre-drilling, tapping the hole to ensure a secure fix.

For single skin, a 25mm long fixing is ideal although lengths up to 235mm are available. These fixings can be used into timber as long as they penetrate more than 50mm into structural grade timber.

Light Section Steel 25mm

£11.00 (£13.20 incl. VAT)

Heavy Section Steel

Heavy section steel is from 4mm to 12mm thick.

These fixing are hot rolled with means they will cut through and tap without pre-drilling.

Lengths of up to 245mm are available.

Heavy Section Steel 25mm

£18.00 (£21.60 incl. VAT)

Stitcher Fasteners

Stitcher fasteners are for metal to metal applications. This includes fixing flashings and securing the side or over laps of the sheets to create a water tight seal between sheets.

To calculate the number of flashings, we would suggest 12 stitchers per flashing. If you are using butyl to seal the side laps or sheet joins, divide the total number of metres you have by 0.4m. This will give you the number of stitchers you will need at 400mm intervals.

Colour Coded Caps (Bags of 100)

Caps are included in the cost of your fixings. We will automatically send you them. Only add caps here if you need more caps than the fixings you are ordering.

Butyl Tape

Size: (Roll – 15m x 9mm x 3mm)

Butyl tape gives a long lasting, strong and flexible weather seal, being able to flex with the normal contraction and expansion of metal roof cladding. Used in compression joints, guttering assembly and with roof fillers, butyl ensures your roof will remain water tight for the long term.

To calculate how many rolls you’ll need, divide the total meters of your roof by 15 and round up to the next whole number.

Butyl Tape (Roll – 15m x 9mm x 3mm)

£3.95 (£4.74 incl. VAT)

Standard Fillers

Standard fillers are supplied in pairs, with the small flute sitting under your metal cladding at the gutter end, and the large flute sitting on top of the cladding and under the flashing at the top ridge.

They can be set into a bead of silicone or butyl tape to ensure a good seal.

Standard Fillers (Pair)

£2.50 (£3.00 incl. VAT)

Vented Fillers

Vented fillers are used when your sheets are supplied with Dr!pStop Anti-condensation fleece.

They ensure ventilation high up within your building so that moisture laden air can be vented out.

Vented Fillers (Pair)

£4.65 (£5.58 incl. VAT)
