Fixings
Box profile roofing sheets are fixed in the valleys, straight through the sheets. The seal is provided by a long life neoprene washer which will last up to 30 years.
The calculation for the number of fixings you will need is this:-
Number of fixing points x 4 (fixings per fixing point) x number of sheets
Fixings are supplied in bags of 100. Caps are available to suit the colour of the sheets you’ve chosen.
Fixings are available for fixing into 3 different types of material:-
1. Timber
2. Light Section Steel (up to 3.2mm thick)
3. Heavy Section Steel (up to 12mm thick)

Fillers (Pair)
Standard fillers are supplied in pairs, with the small flute sitting under your metal cladding at the gutter end, and the large flute sitting on top of the cladding and under the flashing at the top ridge.
They can be set into a bead of silicone or butyl tape to ensure a good seal.
Vented fillers are used when your sheets are supplied with Dr!pStop Anti-condensation fleece.
They ensure ventilation high up within your building so that moisture laden air can be vented out.

Butyl Tape
Size: (Roll – 15m x 9mm x 3mm)
Butyl tape gives a long lasting, strong and flexible weather seal, being able to flex with the normal contraction and expansion of metal roof cladding. Used in compression joints, guttering assembly and with roof fillers, butyl ensures your roof will remain water tight for the long term.
To calculate how many rolls you’ll need, divide the total meters of your roof by 15 and round up to the next whole number.

Colour Coded Caps (Bags of 100)
Caps are included in the cost of your fixings. We will automatically send you them. Only order caps here if you need more caps than the fixings you are ordering.
Roof Sheet Fixings – More Info
What are Roof Sheet Fixings? – The first thing to know is that there are many different types of roof fixings. However, they all essentially perform the same job, holding on the steel roof sheets on the bars and trusses. When first installed, the head of each fixing is separated from the roof sheet by a rubber washer. At Rollaclad, we can supply a wide range of high-quality self-drilling tek screws which make easy work of fitting sheets to timber, heavy or light metal and concrete. The Roof Sheet Fixings are fixed in the valley of the sheets where the water runs on box profile and tile effect sheets, and in the top
corrugation on corrugated sheets. This allows them to become water-tight with the rubber washer at the back of the fixing.
What Roof Sheet Fixings do we offer?
We offer a range of standard roof sheet fixings including:
• Timber Tek Fixings – these are perfect for timber batons, purlins, sterling boards, and
marine ply. As standard, they are 32mm long with 8mm hex head (available up to 45mm in
length).
• Light Metal Tek Fixings – for use in fixing sheets to galvanized z-purlins up to 3mm gauge
25mm long with small cutter 8mm hex head
• Heavy Steel Tek Fixings – for use with angle iron / box channel & heavy gauge purlins up to
6mm gauge. 38mm long as standard with large cutting tip and 8mm hex head (longer
lengths available).
• Blue Concrete Tek Fixings – for fixing sheets and abutment flashings into concrete

• Stitch Tek Fixings – for fixing sheet overlaps (sheet to sheet) and fastening all types of

bolts) for use with timber batons / purlins or light metal purlins. Up to 150mm long with

• Hook bolts / J bolts – for use on right angle metal beams / tubing / concrete prefabs 120mm long as standard with large rubber washer (longer lengths available).
With the exception of hook bolts, all of our roof sheet fixings are generally sold in bags of 100 or boxes of 1000 with colour coded caps to match the colour of the roofing sheets. However, we also offer many other fixings on request so please feel free to contact us for more details and we will try to help you out and find what you are looking for.

The roofing sheets were perfectly cut to the size ordered and the supplied fittings were sufficient for the re-roofing job. One sheet was found to have minor distortion along one edge, possibly caused during its transport, but I did not spot this until after the driver had departed. It required gentle bending back into shape and is hardly noticeable now that it is fitted.
Overall, very good quality product and straightforward dealing with the company.
